Happy Birthday this week to Monika Burkholder, Elmer Miller, and Aaron Zook (turns 18 yrs.).

Weaver's visitation committee is having their quarterly meeting July 9th at 1:00pm in Shady Oak. We welcome anyone who would be interested in joining us with the desire to begin visiting members of our congregation. Also if you are interested in being visited please call the office to let Sandy Good know of your interest.
Summer Fun for Kids - kids and their parents/caretakers are invited to Riven Rock 10:00am on Wednesday, July 16 for a day of relaxation and playing in the river. Bring a picnic lunch to eat and stay as long as you like.

Our offerings from Vacation Bible School for Heifer Projects for bee hives totaled $978.39.

Don't miss the delicious Hmong dinner prepared by the Hickory (N.C.) Hmong Mennonite Church and served at Virginia Conference assembly on Saturday, July 26, 5-6:00 p.m. at Eastern Mennonite School. You must reserve your meal by contacting Laura Campbell at (540)434-9727 or (800)707-5535 by July 15. The cost is $7.50; in addition, contributions for the Hmong congregation will be accepted.

"Hope for All Peoples" highlights mission workers from three global locations on Friday, July 25, 6:45 p.m., part of Virginia Conference assembly, Eastern Mennonite School auditorium. Don't miss the stories of God at work, music, and tastes of international food. TranSend participants, long-term workers and VMC leaders will be commissioned.

Harrisonburg Gift & Thrift, Inc. needs volunteers for the summer. We especially need help sorting and pricing housewares in the afternoon, as well as dock workers (receiving donations) on Saturdays. Thank you Burdette, Carolyn, Clay, Brian and Bradley for pulling onions, staking tomatoes, cutting flowers and spraying smelly deer repellant on plants. The Weavers Food Pantry garden welcomes your help, especially on Tues. (6:30 to dusk) and Sat. (9 or 10 to noon) depending on the weather. If weather is uncertain, you may call our cell phone to see if we are in the garden - (540) 746-0403.
Also, is you have extra veggies from your own garden, Patchwork Pantry would welcome them to distribute Wednesday evenings 7:00 - 8:00. If you wish to drop them off during the day at Community Mennonite Church, where the food pantry is located, call ahead to be sure someone is in the office to let you in the building---David Alleman

The Virginia premiere of a new pro-life, family-friendly movie, "Come What May", is showing at the Court Square Theater in Harrisonburg at 3:00 and 5:30 p.m., Saturday, July 12. Tickets are available in advance at www.adventfilmgroup.com or at the box office on the day of the showing. Family discounts are available. Proceeds to benefit Harrisonburg Pregnancy Center, as well as the centers in Staunton and Edinburg.
